Fairfield Fire Department responded at 7:49 a.m. today to wires arcing on the top of a utility pole owned by Alliant Energy at 1000 W. Burlington Ave.

Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office needed the fire department to provide lighting at 11:06 p.m. Saturday on Pine Avenue south of Highway 34. Fire trucks provided lights and cameras at the scene of a stolen truck rollover found by deputies. Lights were used to search the nearby fields for any ejected people.

Firefighters responded at 9:41 p.m. Saturday to Fairfield Hy-Vee Food and Drug Store, 1300 W. Burlington Ave., for reported smoke in the building.

Firefighters extinguished a garage fire at 904 W. Grimes Ave. at 1:39 p.m. Saturday. An electrical motor on a compressor ignited, burning an area inside the box and inside the door. Estimated loss is $800.

Firefighters responded to a possible extrication at 4:55 p.m. Friday at Jefferson County Health Center. A boy was stuck and firefighters used hand tools to dismantle a pop machine.
