Fairfield Fire Department responded to a grass fire at 11:11 a.m. Saturday at 2077 Nutmeg Ave., the Heartland Co-op property. Trash burning was spread by wind to the grass, and one acre burned. Firefighters extinguished the fire with water and returned to the station at 12:30 p.m.

Fairfield Fire Department responded to a grass fire at 11:11 a.m. Saturday at 2077 Nutmeg Ave., the Heartland Co-op property. Trash burning was spread by wind to the grass, and one acre burned. Firefighters extinguished the fire with water and returned to the station at 12:30 p.m.
Firefighters received an automatic alarm at 7:53 a.m. for 2237 Highway 34, but all was OK and firefighters returned to the station at 7:55 a.m.
Firefighters investigated at 8:28 p.m. Friday the report of a gas smell at Belaire Drive and Maple Street, and returned to the station at 8:37 p.m.
Firefighters responded to a grass fire at 3:52 p.m. Friday at 2275 Kale Blvd. A trash pile being burned was spread by wind to the grass and two acres burned. Firefighters extinguished the fire with water and returned to the station at 5 p.m.
