Fairfield Fire Department responded at 11:58 p.m. Sunday to a rollover on Highway 34 west of Batavia.
Logs lining a drive at 704 N. Court St., had to be extinguished at 9 p.m. Sunday.
Firefighters responded to a small brush fire at 803 W. Harrison Ave., at 3:22 p.m. Saturday. A trash pile was the origin of the fire, which was extinguished with water in 38 minutes.
Firefighters responded to Fairfield High School at 4:30 p.m. Friday, a homecoming parade float had caught fire. The cause of the fire was electrical and a battery was the heat source. The fire was extinguished with water in 20 minutes.
Firefighters responded to a small brush fire at 4 p.m. Friday at 1853 Brookville Road. Water was used to extinguish the fire within 30 minutes.
Firefighters responded to the Beckwith railroad crossing at 3:15 Friday for a Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad coal car on fire, cause unknown. The fire was extinguished. Firefighters remained on the scene until 5:10 p.m.
The first call for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad coal car on fire came in to Fairfield at 1:59 p.m. Friday and firefighters responded to the railroad tracks at Pine Avenue and Highway 34, extinguished the fire and were on the scene until 2:45 p.m. An estimated $200 damage was done to the coal car.
Firefighters responded at 9:35 a.m. Friday to a gas leak reported at 50 W. Burlington Ave. A stove burner was the source. Alliant was called also and firemen stood by.
