The Fairfield Fire Department responded to a hay bale on fire at 3:58 p.m. Tuesday, at 2423 167th Street. Firefighters extinguished the fire within 25 minutes. A tractor was cutting hay in the field but the fire has an unknown origin. It?s estimated at a $60 loss for owner Michael Lackman.
