Fairfield Fire Department responded to a smoke detector going off at 811 W. Kirkwood Ave., at 2:11 p.m. Monday. The call was canceled at 2:13 p.m.
Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire at 2:22 p.m. at 1745 Brookville Road. Water was used to extinguish the fire in a 2001 Toyota Tacoma. Source of the fire is unknown. The vehicle has an estimated $10,000 in damages.
