Fairfield Fire Department responded at 9:17 a.m. Friday to a call about smoke in a building at 2200 W. Burlington Ave., Best Western Fairfield Inn. Firefighters went to the roof, found a unit hot, shut-off gas and power and advised management to contact a repairman. Firefighters returned to the station at 10 a.m.

Fairfield Fire Department responded at 9:17 a.m. Friday to a call about smoke in a building at 2200 W. Burlington Ave., Best Western Fairfield Inn. Firefighters went to the roof, found a unit hot, shut-off gas and power and advised management to contact a repairman. Firefighters returned to the station at 10 a.m.
Firefighters responded at 10:24 p.m. Friday to 201 E. Buchanan Ave. Tarp covering freshly poured concrete had caught fire. Water was used to extinguish it. Firefighters returned to the station at 10:45 p.m.
Firefighters responded to a dumpster fire at 9:02 p.m. Saturday at 209 S. Court St. They returned to the station at 9:20 p.m.
