Fairfield Fire Department responded at 8:17 p.m. Sunday to a grass fire at 1426 Pleasant Plain Road and extinguished the controlled burn that got out of control. Firefighters returned to the station at 9:07 p.m.
Firefighters used 50 gallons of water Friday to extinguish burning leaves at the city compost that were on fire at 3:50 p.m. Firefighters returned to the station at 4:25 p.m.
