Fire claims hog barn in Kalona Saturday

KALONA - Six area agencies responded to a hog barn fire in Kalona Saturday night.
According to the Washington County Communications Media Report at approximately 5:12 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, Kalona Fire responded to a large hog barn fire in the 2000 block of 155th Street where black smoke was reported. Once arriving on scene, the department found the building fully engulfed.
Riverside Fire, Ainsworth Fire, Wellman Fire, Washington Fire and Keota Fire were called in as mutual aid.
