Washington fire department officials expressed their gratitude to representatives from Beatty & Peterseim Funeral and Monument Services last week, for a donation to the fire station sign.
“We sell granite work to the cemeteries, and it just kind of showcased the work we can do other than cemeteries,” Funeral Director Mark Beatty said. “It’s nice to give back to the community and give back to some groups that we agree with and like and support.”
Fire Chief Brendan DeLong said the granite was donated last year, but the sign wasn’t completed until mid-November due to shipping delays.
“We’re just very appreciative for (them) donating to the fire department, we appreciate their willingness,” he said. “We’ve got a beautiful sign here for people to drive by and see.”
