Fire destroys home in Douds
A house in Douds was consumed by fire Monday night, though no injuries were reported. The fire occurred around 7:30 p.m. at 14595 Highway 98 at a home owned by Southasavath Chounlamany. According to Douds Fire Chief Brian Scott, the house was a total loss, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Douds Fire Department received mutual aid from the fire departments in Eldon and Keosauqua. Scott said firefighters were on the scene for six hours. (Photo courtesy of Ben Picard)
