LIBERTYVILLE ? A machine shed in rural Libertyville was destroyed by fire Wednesday night.
The Libertyville Fire Department was called to 1465 250th St., the property of Tim Warner, shortly after 11 p.m.
?It was a pretty nasty fire,? said Gerrad Goodrich, assistant chief of the Libertyville Fire Department.
Goodrich said the building?s roof caved in about 20 minutes after the firefighters arrived, and the magnesium, fiberglass and resins in the building were a challenge, but no one was injured in the fire.
The Libertyville firefighters received mutual aid from several surrounding fire departments.
Goodrich said the Fairfield Fire Department provided its 3,000-gallon tanker with two men and its pumper truck with five men. Batavia sent its tanker and six men, along with a pumper truck it hooked up to a dry hydrant to shuttle water to the fire. Douds and Birmingham each sent a tanker and two men.
The machine shed was a total loss.
Goodrich said the cause of the fire is undetermined, but it is being assumed it could have been an electrical problem.
The Libertyville firefighters were back at the station shortly before 4 a.m. today, Goodrich said.
