The Fairfield Fire Department and its EMS unit report the following:

Thursday

9:45 p.m. - Firefighters investigated a smoke smell at 303 W. Washington Ave. A burned belt in a washer was found.

EMS responded to one call: a person fell.

Friday

EMS responded to one call: a person having a stroke.

Saturday

12:57 p.m. - Firefighters extinguished a car fire at Broadway Avenue and Forest Drive. A 1996 Chevy Suburban had caught fire.

6:58 p.m. - Firefighters assisted EMS in the 400 block of South Sixth.

EMS responded to two calls: a person fainted; a person with a breathing problem.

Sunday

9:53 p.m. - Firefighters were on standby for Alliant Energy after an accident in the 50 block of East Kirkwood Avenue.

EMS responded to one call: a sick person.
