The Fairfield Fire Department, and its EMS unit, report the following:
Wednesday
1:05 p.m. - The department's entry team was placed on stand by for a worker entering a confined space at the Fairfield Wastewater Treatment Plant.
3:50 p.m. - The department extinguished a grass fire in the 800 block of Highland. The Fairfield Water Department had been cutting a pipe and the yard caught fire from the sparks.
6:59 p.m. - The department assisted EMS in the 400 block of South Fourth.
8:15 p.m. - The department assisted EMS in the 500 block of East Hempstead.
