The first pour of concrete on the Grand Avenue reconstruction project is planned today. Mike Nelson concrete placed steel reinforcing yesterday on the west side of Grand Avenue from Baker Street to just south of Ash Street.
Concrete trucks will enter the project on the frontage road east of Grand Avenue. The trucks will travel south on the frontage road to the Baker Street/Grand Avenue intersection and travel south on Grand Avenue to Mapleleaf Drive.
There will be a flagger at the Baker and Mapleleaf intersection to help trucks entering and exiting the project.
The concrete crew will be pouring the Ash Street intersection later this week.
DeLong Construction?s grading crew will be fine grading and placing engineering fabric and modified sub-base from Baker Street north to Winfield Avenue. The Mapleleaf, Baker and Winfield intersections will remain open during this period.
Warner Engineering urges the public to use caution driving around the worksite in the upcoming weeks because of increased truck traffic on paving days.
Warner said it will attempt to keep the public informed of major concrete pour days through the local media.
