Rev. Melisa Bracht-Wagner, executive director of the Fellowship Cup, and Pastor Herb Shafer of First United Methodist Church hold the ?De-Feeting Hunger! Crop Walk?s ?Stretch? Award - Group with most feet on the ground? award, which was given to First United Methodist Church for its participation in the Crop Walk on May 1. The church had 18 participants in the walk which included 45 walkers from five different congregations. In total, participants raised $1,710.26 to fight hunger. The Fellowship Cup received 25 percent of these proceeds, which amounts to 76.96 pounds of food for the local community. The Mt. Pleasant Crop Walk was sponsored locally by the Henry County Ministerial Association, which plans on conducting another walk next year.
