Fisher family wins big at state fair

West Chester residents Zoe and Zane Fisher represented Washington County at the Iowa State Fair FFA Poultry show Aug. 12., showing through Mid-Prairie FFA.
Zoe Fisher won champion continental breed with her white crested black polish hen. She placed in the Top 10 showmen, earning a showmanship belt buckle and earned champion pen-of-two meat turkeys.
Zane Fisher won grand champion overall meat bird with his pen-of-two roaster chickens, coming in at 24.8 lbs. total. He earned champion pen-of-two broiler chickens, and a purple with his pen-of-three egg layer chickens.
The pair brought home a blue herdsmanship banner for the Mid-Prairie FFA. Both will be seniors at the school next year.
