FMS, FHS to continue in hybrid due to virus

The Fairfield Community School District announced on its website Sunday that middle school and high school students will remain in hybrid mode instead of returning to fully in-person classes Monday as the district had planned. This is in response to a rapid rise in coronavirus cases reported in Jefferson County, which went from 56 cases Thursday to 98 cases Sunday.
Students attending Washington and Pence Elementary schools will continue with their fully in-person classes that began Oct. 5, but they are under 'high alert” that they, too, could be forced to return to the hybrid model if coronavirus cases continue their steep climb.
