Did the recent wind storm take down Curt Swarm?s backyard hammock, or did a squirrel gnawing on the rope? Doesn?t matter. What does matter was that Swarm noticed a baby squirrel entangled in the hammock?s webbing and unable to free himself. Swarm called Mt. Pleasant Police Department?s Community Service Officer Jon Myers. Myers, pictured, held the squirrel with an animal control device while Swarm cut the strings of the hammock with a scissors. The squirrel was freed to leap another day from tree to tree and ravage Swarm?s backyard bird feeders.
