Fritz leads FMS in Fort Madison
FORT MADISON ? Fairfield Middle School cross country runner Sammy Fritz claimed her second win of the season Thursday.
The eighth-grader broke the tape on the Fort Madison Invitational?s two-mile course in 14:34. She won the Van Buren Invite earlier this season and placed second at Fairfield?s invite.

FORT MADISON ? Fairfield Middle School cross country runner Sammy Fritz claimed her second win of the season Thursday.
The eighth-grader broke the tape on the Fort Madison Invitational?s two-mile course in 14:34. She won the Van Buren Invite earlier this season and placed second at Fairfield?s invite.
Joining Fritz with a top-10 finish Thursday was teammate Ashlyn Elmore in sixth place in 15:30. Emily Hanna finished 24th (16:48) and Maggie Ferrel was right behind Hanna in 25th (16:50). Also finishing the course in under 18 minutes were Ryan Pate (31st, 17:26) and Brittney Schafer (34th, 17:36).
Elijah Parr was the top runner for Fairfield on the boys? side, finishing 18th on the two-mile course in 15:23.
The Trojan runners continue their seven-race season Thursday at the Grayhound Invite in Burlington.
