Although the agenda is packed, most of the business facing the Mt. Pleasant City Council tonight for its first meeting of 2012 is minor in nature.
Council members will handle a number of routine items including naming the official newspaper, approving the appointment of the mayor pro tem and approving council standing committee assignments.
The council will also consider engineering agreements for the downtown sidewalk project and alley work adjacent to Jackson and Monroe streets.
