The Mt. Pleasant Fire Department battled a garage fire at 507 East Clay Street in Mt. Pleasant on Sunday, April 14, at 10:42 p.m. There was minor smoke and water damage to the house, but the fire was mostly contained to the southwest corner of the garage. Fifteen firefighters battled the flames for approximately two hours.
