Following multiple stays in the Washington County Hospital and Clinics Inpatient Unit, LeRoy Havel was deeply moved by the care and dedication of the hospital staff. In recognition of their exemplary service, LeRoy has made a heartfelt decision to donate $500,000 to the Washington County Hospital Foundation (WCHF) in honor and memory of his late wife Colleen, his brother Bob and wife Patricia and his mother and father, Roy and Lillian Havel.
“My family moved into the city 1936 and prior to that, I was born in the old Washington County Hospital in 1930. My wish is to see their legacy have a continuing impact on this community and that people know that they made a significant difference,” LeRoy stated when asked what his wishes were with this gift.
This substantial contribution will be allocated toward various critical areas across the hospital, bolstering health care services and facilities for the benefit of the community. LeRoy's profound commitment to the future well-being of others is evident in this philanthropic act, which will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the community for years to come.
“We are incredibly grateful for Mr. Havel's very generous donation," expressed John Woodward, WCHF’s Development Officer. "This contribution will significantly impact our ability to provide high-quality health care services to the members of our community. LeRoy's dedication to honoring the memory of his late wife, brother, mother and father by supporting our hospital, exemplifies the spirit of compassion and generosity that defines our community."
The Washington County Hospital Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to LeRoy Havel for his commitment to improving health care services for all of Washington County. His generosity serves as an inspiration and this legacy of compassion will continue to brighten the lives of countless individuals within our community for years to come.
