Genevieve A. Runyon, 90, of Bloomfield died at 10:43 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2014, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
The funeral service is set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Donna Olinger officiating. Burial will be in Fellows Cemetery in Keosauqua. Visitation will open at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the family present from 5-7 p.m.

Genevieve A. Runyon, 90, of Bloomfield died at 10:43 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2014, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

Memorials to the Bloomfield Library or Hospice of Davis and Wapello Counties can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 201 N. Pine St., Bloomfield 52537.
Mrs. Runyon was born Sept. 10, 1923, in Cantril, the daughter of Raymond and Birdie Scott Randolph. She married Leslie B. Runyon Feb. 14, 1942, in Memphis, Mo. He died Jan. 5, 1987.
Mrs. Runyon lived most of her life in Lebanon on the farm with her husband. They retired and moved to Keosauqua in 1970. Following her husband?s death, she moved to Bloomfield in 1989.
She was a member of the Drakesville United Methodist Church, volunteer at the Keosauqua, Bloomfield and Stockport senior centers and had taught country school in Davis and Van Buren counties.
Survivors include: one son, Ronald Runyon and wife Pam of Eldon; one daughter, Carol Ann Birchmier and husband Dennis of Bloomfield; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; one stepgreat-grandchild; and one sister, Catherine Balmer of Bloomfield.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Pauline McNabb; and one granddaughter.
