Geng Baccam, 82, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, in Smyrna, Tenn.
Friends may call Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, from 1 to 7 p.m., and the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. that evening, at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel. Geng Baccam, 82, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, in Smyrna, Tenn.
Friends may call Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, from 1 to 7 p.m., and the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. that evening, at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel. Baccam was born in Sonla, Vietnam on March 15, 1933, the daughter of Our Lo Van and Aung Lo Thi. She was adopted when she was young by Truc Nachiengane and Phoun Lo. On Dec. 24, 1952, she married Khamdeng Baccam, in Vietnam.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family, including her kids and grandchildren.
She was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church.
Baccam is survived by her husband, Khamdeng; seven sons, Pheth Baccam, of Sioux Center; Viengkham (Nouane) Baccam, of Mt. Pleasant; Boon (Hong) Baccam, of Worthington, Minn.; Somdi Sean (Stephanie) Baccam, of Hull; Syla (Tanya) Baccam, of Little Elm, Texas; Khampouth Baccam, of Austin, Texas; and Souvanna (Mindy) Baccam, of Hull; and four daughters, Khamphoui (Tom) Veunvilavone, of Mt Pleasant, Bouala (Nahm) Marie Lo, of Smyrna, Tenn., Ni (Khamphet) Kounavong, of Nimes, France, and Chanhom (Bill) Tharrington, of Des Moines; 24 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her three sons, Phouk, Mo, and Khamko, and her parents.
