Geode races coming up soon

Friends of Geode and Danville Lions welcome all runners, families, and visitors to enjoy the Geode Challenge Races, Oct. 21.

Geode Races begin at 9 a.m. at the Beach Shelter in Geode State Park. Events include a 5K, 12K, and 25k run or walk! Registration is $35/5K, $40/12K, $45/25K. Preregistration includes a T-shirt.

Volunteers will man Shelter 1 and Shelter 4, and be available at critical places around the trail. Water is available at the start/finish line.

If you are not running, this is a great opportunity to enjoy the beach area, cheer on the racers and get to know Friends of Geode members. Members have worked on trails under the guidance of the Park Rangers and done everything possible to make the race fun for all. The park is entering its Fall beauty pageant phase. Cheerleaders will be especially welcome at the finish line!
