George Wallace Griffith

George Wallace Griffith, 78, of rural Bloomfield, died Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. Burial of cremains will be at a later date at Floris Cemetery in Floris.

Visitation, with the family, will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established to the family.

Mr. Griffith was born March 6, 1934, in Creston, the son of George William and Dorothy Reed Hughes Griffith. He married Bonnie L. Russell Aug. 12, 1978, in Rock Island, Ill. She died Dec. 21, 2006.

Survivors include three daughters, Charity Clark and husband Eric of Cantril, Georganna Torres and husband Martin of Fulton, Ill., and April Hendricks and husband Josh of Washington, Iowa; one son, David Griffith of Davenport; one stepdaughter, Janet McCullough of Davenport; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one brother, Charles Griffith of Davenport.
