The Fairfield girls? golf team took second place behind Washington at the Grayhound Invitational on Monday with 357 strokes. The Demons? Deanna Peiffer was the medalist with a 74, while the Trojans? Lindsey Repp and Washington?s Sarah Nacos tied for runner-up at 77.
Olivia Hammel and Kylee Marlay each shot a 92, Madelyn Swan and Taylor Marlay both scored 96 and Abby Adam rounded out the Fairfield scoring with 106 strokes in the 18-hole event.
Repp?s back-nine of 36 was the top nine-hole score of anyone in the tournament, but struggles on the first and second hole pushed the senior back to a 41 on her front-nine.
Mt. Pleasant and Keokuk were also in attendance, with the Panthers finishing fifth with 377 strokes and the Chiefs not recording a full team score due to only having three golfers.
Next up, the girls will host Mt. Pleasant for a dual meet on Thursday afternoon.
