U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley made a stop in Washington County on Thursday, April 13 when he visited with employees of Gingerich Well & Pump Service in Kalona.
Grassley received a tour of Gingerich Well’s facilities and held a question-and-answer session with over 60 employees. Grassley answered questions on topics including Waters of the United States (WOTUS) and its impact on Iowa farmers, Iowa workforce, the southern border and immigration issues, presidential election transparency and confidence and oversight and investigation with Hunter Biden.
Grassley said that the business tour provided a glimpse into the “ingenuity” of Iowans, and that he enjoyed taking questions from the employees.
“From hearing about Farm Bill priorities to the need for essential infrastructure, I got a lot of opinions and ideas to take back to the policymaking tables,” Grassley said. “Meeting face-to-face with Iowans in each of Iowa’s 99 counties helps me better represent the commonsense values that too often get overshadowed in Washington.”
After the meeting with the employees, Grassley stopped to get an ice cream cone at Yotty’s Ice Cream on Kalona’s Main Street.
