KNOXVILLE, TN - Washington-based business Greiner Buildings announced Wednesday it had been recognized by the National Frame Building Association with the 2024 Building of the Year Award in the Masters Division, Residential category.
The award was presented at the NFBA Expo in Knoxville held April 1–4, 2025. A company spokesperson said it recognized GB’s “innovation in post-frame construction and custom residential design” for an “elevated treehouse retreat” the local company built in 2024.
The NFBA Building of the Year Awards consists of 12 award categories, according to the organizations website, each with two divisions. Greiner Buildings’ entry in the Masters division put it up against other companies with at least $6 million of annual gross volume.
The prizewinning project was a treehouse retreat in Oxford, a 14’x20’x10’ custom post-frame structure built 30 feet off the ground on a lavender farm. Greiner Buildings said the structure showed off “modern elegance with various window sizing and full-view glass doors,” complete with one bedroom, two beds and a bathroom.
“Judges recognized how the build delivered a high-end experience in a small footprint, blending smart architectural choices with a one-of-a-kind setting,” the company said in a statement. “We’re honored to have this project recognized at a national level and incredibly proud of our team for bringing this vision to life.”
