Henry County Habitat for Humanity will be holding an event called “Stuff the Truck” on Saturday, Nov. 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event is being held at the Mt. Pleasant Christian School Parking Lot.
HCHH is asking community members to bring their unwanted or unused items that might be stored in garages and basements.
There are many items that they are accepting as donations. Items include appliances, building materials, bathroom cabinets, doors, windows, gardening tools, household furniture, office furniture, outdoor furniture, paint supplies, sinks, toilets, tiles, carpet, and rugs.
While there are items that are accepted, there are also items that cannot be taken. These items include broken items, electronics, TVs, empty pain containers, fluorescent ceiling lights, mattresses, bedding, and single-pane windows.
All of the donated goods will be taken to the Fairfield ReStore to be resold, and Habitat for Humanity will be given a portion of the sale price.
Habitat for Humanity (HCHH) within the next year will begin the construction process on its 29th home built in Henry County, with the most recent being in Wayland.
Money raised will directly help build homes around the county. Funds will also assist in constructing the 29th home, which will be located in Mt. Pleasant at 502 S. Jefferson Street.
