The Fairfield Park and Recreation Department, in cooperation with Maharishi University of Management, is conducting a two-week day camp for 6-12-year-olds. Today, the group of 14 children went to Waterworks Park for lessons in canoe safety and use, after which they played games and had pizza on the beach. The Fairfield Park and Recreation Department, in cooperation with Maharishi University of Management, is conducting a two-week day camp for 6-12-year-olds. Today, the group of 14 children went to Waterworks Park for lessons in canoe safety and use, after which they played games and had pizza on the beach. According to park and rec director Derik Wulfekuhle, the camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. The youngsters do crafts, sing songs, learn hip hop dance and in the indoor pool, learn to swim and play water games. Two canoes are in the water, each with two children and two lifeguards.
