The former Star Hardee?s Restaurant, vacant for two years, is now on the market.
?The Hardee?s will not be re-opened there,? said Boh Kurylo, a vice president at the Lerner Co., a brokerage firm that represents the fast food restaurant.
Dave Ebbing, who owns the property at 605 W. Burlington Ave., said Hardee?s had recently asked to be released from the lease on the building.
The lease was supposed to run out in 2017. Ever since the restaurant closed its doors, Hardee?s has continued paying rent on the building.
A representative of the Hardee?s real estate and construction office in St. Louis, Mo., confirmed that the building had been placed on the company?s surplus properties list.
