Through donations by teachers and staff of Harlan and Lincoln Elementary Schools, a commissioned painting by Enolia Bainter Branstad was presented to Henry County Health Center Foundation and Southeastern Renal Dialysis, Mt. Pleasant, in memory of Debby Biggs Cordes.
The Harlan-Lincoln House was chosen as its name represents the two schools? names. Cordes also conducted tours for students at this house after her retirement from teaching.
In June, the Cordes and Roberts families viewed the finished art piece for the first time and expressed their appreciation and gratitude for the staff?s tribute to their mother, sister and aunt.
Mary Liechty, Director of Southeastern Renal Dialysis, remarked, ?We are so honored to be given this painting. Debby was a cherished patient and dear friend to many of us.?
The painting has been placed in the dialysis waiting area at HCHC.
