HC Sheriff’s Office investigating counterfeit currency

The Henry County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant in the 700 block of N. Broadway Street in Mt. Pleasant on Monday, Dec 17.

The search warrant is part of an ongoing counterfeit U.S. Currency investigation. No other details will be released at this time and charges are pending.

The Mt. Pleasant Police Department assisted in execution of the warrant.

The Henry County Sheriff's Office continues to encourage vigilance when receiving and accepting cash and look for any potential counterfeit signs. Report any suspicious or counterfeit money to the Henry County Sheriff's Office or local law enforcement.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
