Iowa Wesleyan University will be celebrating the holiday season with the long tradition of Lessons & Carols.
This service highlights the Iowa Wesleyan Music Department students and other musical performers around the Southeast Iowa Community.
“He is Coming Soon” will be held live on Saturday, Dec. 4, and Sunday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. in the Iowa Wesleyan University Chapel Auditorium in Mt. Pleasant.
The concert will celebrate the holiday season, entwined with traditional and contemporary choral and instrumental music paired with scriptures that tell the Christmas story.
“Lessons & Carols is the culmination of an entire season of teaching and learning,” Director of Choral Activities and Artistic Director of the event Blair Buffington said. “It’s a true blessing to have the return of something that is so traditional and special for our campus and community and be able to once again offer a live performance. We want to share a message of hope and peace this year, and music is the gift we have been given to deliver that message.”
The event is free of charge, but reservations are required to attend the event.
Seats can be reserved by visiting the Iowa Wesleyan University web page iw.edu/carols or by calling (319) 385-6215.
A freewill offering will be held at the end of the performance, which will benefit the Iowa Wesleyan Music Department.
