Heading to state

The Fairfield community held a send-off for the Fairfield High School softball team Monday morning at Trojan Stadium. The Trojans headed to Fort Dodge where they played Dallas Center-Grimes later that day in the first round of the tournament. Shae McCabe, the father of Peyton McCabe, said he loves the way these girls play as a team and always cheer each other on. 'When the bats get going, it's contagious,' he said.
