Janet Miller was busy in her garden this morning, planting succulent varieties in a pot that will sit in a sunny place in her yard, or, perhaps on the deck. Miller called this plant ?Hearts of Flowers,? also known as ?ice plant.? The botanical name is aptenia cordifolia, and is native to South Africa. This vining plant also makes a good ground cover in an open spot and has showy pink or red starburst flowers. Having had a broken arm in 2010 and rotator cuff surgery in 2011, Miller was unable to garden. ?I am really enjoying our yard and garden this year,? she said.
