Heaton appointed budget committee chair

House Speaker Linda Upmeyer (R-Clear Lake) recently announced that Rep. Dave Heaton (R-Mt. Pleasant) will serve as the Chairman of the House Health and Human Services budget committee.
?Rep. Heaton is an experienced leader who has always worked to protect our most vulnerable citizens. He is committed to making sure Iowans have access to necessary services they count on in the most efficient way possible,? said Speaker Upmeyer.
Heaton was also appointed to the following committees: Appropriations, Government Oversight, Human Resources, and Legislative Council.
The legislative session begins Jan. 9, 2017.
