Henry County deputy wins special award, graduates from academy
Henry County Sheriff?s Deputy Brandon Marquardt recently graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy, according to the academy and Henry County Sheriff Allen Wittmer.
Marquardt also was the recipient of the Woodard Award at the academy. The Woodard Award is presented to the member of each basic class who earns the highest academic average.

Henry County Sheriff?s Deputy Brandon Marquardt recently graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy, according to the academy and Henry County Sheriff Allen Wittmer.
Marquardt also was the recipient of the Woodard Award at the academy. The Woodard Award is presented to the member of each basic class who earns the highest academic average.
The award is presented on behalf of the wife and family of the late Jack Woodard, who met an untimely death during his first term as Polk County Sheriff. Woodard was a graduate of the 17th basic class at the academy and always a strong supporter of the academy.
Marquardt graduated from the academy?s 243rd basic level one training school on April 6.
