MT. PLEASANT - The Henry County Health Center awarded $7,500 in grants to three local organizations this year for health-related initiatives.
Iowa Wesleyan University received $3,000 to upgrade nursing simulating equipment. Winfield Public Library was awarded $2,000 for the purchase of health and wellness related educational books, and Mt. Pleasant Community School District received $2,500 for the purchase of water bottle filling stations.
The nonprofit provides the yearly grants to local organizations whose goals align with the foundation's mission: to promote, fund and deliver important health related initiatives for the benefit of residents of Henry County and surrounding areas.
'It is exciting to fund these grants that display to our area residents how strongly we care about their health and well-being. These grants are just one example of how HCHC Foundation transforms the contributions we receive into positive outcomes in Henry County,” Mark Hempen, health center foundation director, said.
Applications for grants will open again in July 2021. Future funding opportunities can be found at hchc.org/foundation.
