Henry County man arrested for stealing car

MT. PLEASANT — On June 9 at approximately 1:17 a.m., the Henry County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a stolen vehicle from the 1600 grid of 265th Street near Oakland Mills.

According to a release from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, it was found that a male subject had stolen a blue, 2005 Chrysler 300 from a residence and fled from the area.

After an investigation into the stolen vehicle, officers attempted to locate the subject in the Mt. Pleasant area at a local apartment complex.

The release stated that the male subject was located and identified as Edward “JT” Antwan Easley, 23, of the Mt. Pleasant area.

Easley was placed under arrest and transported to the Henry County Jail without incident. The vehicle was located at the same apartment complex.

Easley was charged with theft in the second degree, a Class D felony. He was also given a citation for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license.

The Mt. Pleasant Police Department assisted with this investigation.
