Henry County Republican Women meet

The Henry County Republican Women met on Oct. 10 at Sunrise Terrace in Winfield for a luncheon. Devotions and blessing were given by LaVonne Meinhardt.

Regional Director Joni Scotter was the speaker. She thanked the group for caring about kids. She said small groups are important and attitude is important for success. Also, caucuses and voting are important.

The state weekend meeting in Des Moines promoting attendance at the caucuses is tentatively set for Jan. 3. Scotter said she will get information to the group.

A discussion followed Scotter?s speech. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Reports were given and approved.

The November meeting agenda includes election of officers, program planning for the coming year and packaging of school supplies. The meeting will be held on Nov. 14 at Linda Sharp?s house, 302 N. Clark Street in Winfield for a sack lunch.

After the meeting adjourned, the auction followed.
