Incident at Lake Geode State Park

A welfare check was conducted by the Henry County Sheriff?s Office at the campground at Lake Geode State Park in the early hours of Monday morning. The check occurred at approximately 2:53 a.m., April 9.

As a result of the check, Tyler McVeigh, no age listed, of Burlington was cited for possession of alcohol under the legal age and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Welfare check results in trip to hospital

The Henry County Sheriff?s Office was asked to conduct a welfare check on an elderly male subject in the 200 block of North Main Street in Salem. The request was received at approximately 4 p.m., Tuesday, April 10.

The responding deputy felt that the man should have a medical assessment based on observation at the scene. The deputy then requested an ambulance to respond.

The subject was transported to Henry County Health Center for evaluation; he was later released.

Verbal dispute in Salem

Last night, at approximately 8:47 p.m., the Henry County Sheriff?s Office was dispatched to a reported verbal dispute in the 200 block of North Main Street in Salem.

All involved persons had separated prior to law enforcement?s arrival.

After interviewing those involved, it was determined that no criminal offenses had occurred.
