Door-to-door scam in Salem
A report of suspicious persons going door to door in Salem soliciting people by offering savings on satellite television service was received by the Henry County Sheriff?s Office on Wednesday, Aug. 15.

Door-to-door scam in Salem
A report of suspicious persons going door to door in Salem soliciting people by offering savings on satellite television service was received by the Henry County Sheriff?s Office on Wednesday, Aug. 15.
According to the press release, people in the group are wearing clothing with a satellite company?s logo on it, which may mislead citizens into assuming that the people are representatives hired by the company.
If any questions arise as to whether a salesperson is legitimately conducting business in Henry County, the sheriff?s office asks that residents contact local law enforcement officials to verify their identifications before entering into any business agreement.
Neighbor dispute
A civil dispute between neighbors was reported at approximately 8:29 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 16.
Officials went to the site of the dispute in the 100 block of East Maple Street in Rome to help resolve the dispute. The problem was sorted out without criminal charges being filed.
Roll-over wreck
A single-vehicle roll-over accident occurred at approximately 6:45 p.m., Aug. 14, in the 2400 grid of Clayton Avenue.
An investigation found that an SUV operated by Noah Hummell, no age listed, of Mt. Pleasant was travelig south on Clayton Avenue when the accident happened. Hummell?s vehicle entered the ditch where it rolled.
No injuries were reported at the scene.
Thief attempted to take fence
A complaint where an unknown person hooked onto a chain link fence and attempted to remove it was received at approximately 8:07 p.m., Aug. 14.
The fence was in the front yard of a home located in the 2200 grid of Quaker Avenue.
