Reported animal neglect investigated
A report of possible animal neglect was received at approximately 6:02 p.m. June 7. The instance was reportedly in the 200 block of South Crew Street in Mt. Union.
After checking on the animals, it was determined that the complaint was unfounded.
Juvenile charged with assaulting her father
A female juvenile was charged with assault causing bodily injuries after assaulting her father, based on evidence at the scene and the subsequent investigation.
At approximately 8:48 p.m. Thursday, June 7, the sheriff?s office responded to a report of a physical altercation in progress between a father and daughter in the 200 block of North Main Street in Olds.
The father sustained multiple abrasions to his face, arms, chest and back; none of the injuries required medical treatment.
The child was released to her mother?s custody for the night.
No names or ages were released.
The Iowa State Patrol assisted at the scene.
Dog complaint resolved
A barking dog complaint in the 200 block of East Pine Street in Winfield was received at approximately 9:50 p.m., June 7.
The problem had been resolved by the canine?s owner prior to the deputy?s arrival.
A report was to be forwarded to the Winfield Police Department for determination of whether a violation of city ordinance is applicable.
Tackle taken
A reported theft occurred late Friday night or early Saturday morning from the dam area at Oakland Mills South Shore Park. According to the report, the sheriff?s office is investigating the theft of a tackle box from the area.
Man arrested for domestic abuse
An E-911 call from a female subject reporting that she had been assaulted while at Mud Creek Park was received by the Henry County Sheriff?s Office early Monday morning at approximately 1:04 a.m.
Mud Creek Park is located in the 2500-grid of 312th Street in southeastern Henry County.
The responding deputy located the female victim walking westbound on 312th Street. She was found to have minor injuries consistent with her report.
Audie Crawford Ellard III, 25, of St. Paul was subsequently arrested for domestic abuse assault causing injury, a serious misdemeanor.
Ellard was then transported to the Henry County Jail to await his initial court appearance.
