MP man arrested on River Road
A Mt. Pleasant man was arrested during a routine traffic stop in the 2900 grid of River Road on Thursday, July 12.
Jeremy R. Bitting, 42, of Mt. Pleasant was arrested by Henry County Sheriff?s deputies on multiple violations.
Bitting was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to have SR insurance on file and driving while revoked for operating while intoxicated ...

MP man arrested on River Road
A Mt. Pleasant man was arrested during a routine traffic stop in the 2900 grid of River Road on Thursday, July 12.
Jeremy R. Bitting, 42, of Mt. Pleasant was arrested by Henry County Sheriff?s deputies on multiple violations.
Bitting was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to have SR insurance on file and driving while revoked for operating while intoxicated test refusal. He was transported to the Henry County Jail.
Driver falls asleep at the wheel
William F. Dorrell, 65, of Mt. Pleasant fell asleep at the wheel of his 1999 Toyota while northbound on Iowa Avenue, Saturday afternoon.
The Henry County Sheriff?s Office was notified of the single-vehicle accident in the 2400 grid of Iowa Avenue at approximately 3:57 p.m., July 14.
Dorrell fell asleep while driving, crossed the centerline and went onto the west shoulder. He then overcorrected, crossed both lanes of the road and entered the east ditch where his vehicle ran over a fence and became hung up on the fence, according to a report from the sheriff?s office.
Dorrell was not injured in the accident.
Damage to the car and fence appeared to be minimal.
Dorrell was cited for failure to maintain control.
Missing person reported, found
The Henry County Sheriff?s office responded to a report of a missing person in the 2700 grid of Logan Avenue early Saturday evening at approximately 6:02 p.m.
According to the report, an adult male subject walked away from his residence at approximately 12:30 a.m. after being involved in a verbal domestic argument.
After a brief search, a sheriff?s deputy found the subject walking in the area of Logan Avenue and Lexington Avenue.
The Henry County Fire Department assisted the Henry County Sheriff?s Office.
