Hesitation at intersection leads to accident
A two-vehicle accident on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the intersection of East Washington Street and South Grand Avenue resulted in a combined $3,500 damage to two vehicles.
Mt. Pleasant police determined that a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer, owned and operated by Joseph Hall, of Peoria, Ill., was traveling west through the intersection.

A two-vehicle accident on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the intersection of East Washington Street and South Grand Avenue resulted in a combined $3,500 damage to two vehicles.
Mt. Pleasant police determined that a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer, owned and operated by Joseph Hall, of Peoria, Ill., was traveling west through the intersection.
A 2008 Nissan Armada, owned and operated by Tiffany Curtis, of Mt. Pleasant, was traveling east on Washington Street and turning north at the Grand Avenue intersection.
Both drivers stated there was some confusion and hesitation with both vehicles at the intersection. The vehicles struck each other at slow speed.
No injuries were reported. Damage to Hall?s Mercury was estimated at $1,500, and damage to Curtis? Nissan was listed at $2,000.
