“With every swipe of their Hills Bank debit card, over 11,100 customers generate donations from Hills Bank to their designated public school district or private school in our local communities,” a news release from the company said. “There is no charge to the school or to our customers; it’s just a great way to make a difference for area students.”
Since 2004, $37,534.62 has been donated to the Highland Community School District, $27,105.21 to Hillcrest Academy, $123,200.17 to the Mid-Prairie Community School District, and $21,982.33 to the Washington Community School District. Classroom Cash cardholders have earned a total of over $1.35 million for participating area schools.
“A vital part of Hills Bank’s mission is to give back to our community,” said Hills Bank CEO Dwight O. Seegmiller. “This program allows our customers to help simply by swiping their Hills Bank debit card. The more they use their card, the more our community schools benefit.”
