September is Library Card Sign-up Month. Stop by the library to renew your library card. If you don?t have a library card, stop by and fill out an application. A library card is free. The librarian will tell you about the services your local library has to offer.
The Hillsboro Public Library is also designating September as ?Amnesty Month? for its past and present patrons who may still owe a fine. This is an opportunity to return any books/movies in good condition that you might have which are overdue. This also applies if you have returned your books and movies but still owe a fine. You can stop by the library to find out how to reinstate your library card and begin using the library?s services again.
Beginning in September, the library will have a ?Second Monday Story time? each month. Every second Monday of the month, a special storyteller will read a story to any child who wants to sit and listen to a story. The first story time will be Sept. 12 from 4:30 to 5 p.m. Stop by, pull up a cushion or chair and enjoy an exciting story.
