Hillsboro man cited following accident
A two-vehicle accident on Tuesday, Sept. 29, in Mt. Pleasant, resulted in a citation being issued to a Hillsboro resident.

A two-vehicle accident on Tuesday, Sept. 29, in Mt. Pleasant, resulted in a citation being issued to a Hillsboro resident.
According to the Mt. Pleasant Police Department?s accident report, the accident occurred in the 800 block of West Washington Street. A 2000 Ford Ranger, owned and operated by Albert Thornton, of Hillsboro, pulled from the Schrader?s vehicle lot, traveling south and failing to yield to traffic.
A 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis, operated by Jacob Yocum, of Muscatine, was traveling west in the inside lane of West Washington when the Thornton vehicle pulled into his lane of traffic causing a collision.
Thornton was cited for unsafe entry onto the sidewalk or roadway. No injuries were reported and total damages were estimated at $9,000.
